Fearless Female Business Owner That Never Gives UP!

Updated: Oct 29, 2021

Let’s center our attention on community partner, Catrina Kagel, as she dives into explaining her business, The Ladies Room Inc. Listen as she reveals various ways in which her business contributes to our community by bridging confidence and self-empowerment to young females and adults.

Catrina Kagel grew up in Villa Park, IL. She attended Willowbrook High School and College of DuPage. Having been a recent graduate of Joseph Business School (JBS) in Forest Park, IL, Catrina is obsessed with leveling the playing field. In November 2009, she embarked on an entrepreneurial journey centering her focus on The Ladies Room Resale Consignment Boutique, located at 410 South Main St, Lombard, IL.

Amidst Catrina’s 11-year journey for retail clothing, she felt compelled to incorporate faith not only into her business but into herself. She’s since launched two more businesses and a nonprofit organization. She owns ThomKat Fashion and Art Boutique, located in Downtown Lombard, IL and TLR Online, in which, her online product inventory is in Addison, IL.

ThomKat Fashion and Art Boutique, established in 2021, commemorates the local community by offering princess parties, painting events, and privately assists patrons with themed party, such as Roaring 20s, 80s, etc. During the princess parties, the little girls play dress up and apply make-up. Catrina also delivers etiquette classes, in which, the little girls learn to walk in heels and eat. She makes dressing up for any occasion fun and relaxing for the entire family including men.

When human beings experience trauma or severe life stressors, it is not uncommon for their lives to unravel. Catrina’s nonprofit organization is two-fold and palliative, as the ultimate purpose of TLR Gives Back Foundation is “Helping keep music alive in schools one note at a time”. The nonprofit forges the community the opportunity to participate in community events, in which, proceeds earned are donated to the mission to maintain music is schools. To coincide with her mission of keeping music alive, she uses her great passion for music to vicariously bring healing to people with Alzheimer’s and dementia. Catrina feels, “Music soothes the soul”. She donates resources to support the research for Alzheimer’s and dementia.
